I'm not sure if anyone who used to follow me will ever check back here, but I came across my page recently and felt somewhat guilty for not keeping up with the blog past 18 weeks of pregnancy. I truly loved having an outlet to share the ups and downs of TTC and pregnancy but then simply just got busy and I chose family time over Internet time.
Having said that, I want to close the loop.
As I write this, I am sitting here staring at my almost 5 month old son sleeping peacefully in my arms. He arrived one day before his due date on February 17. I wanted a natural, vaginal delivery without any pain meds and was so fortunate that I got just that. Labour was fast, about 7 hours from start to finish. In fact, baby boy may have been born at home if it weren't for the fact that he was face forward instead of back. Baby boy came out beautiful, a healthy 7lbs 9oz, and was able to latch on from the start. Breastfeeding has been, for the most part, a wonderful experience for us.
Everything I was told from experienced parents is true. The love is unimaginable, the days are long and the weeks short. I wouldn't trade even a minute of my time at home with him.
Needless to say, I'm so in love with my little man and my little family. When I see DH and baby boy together my heart smiles.
What's next? Enjoying every minute of maternity leave - my one on one time with my boy.. And planning for #2!
For now, I'm going to sign off but I think I'll be back. Just not sure when or how.
